FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Here you’ll find a brief overview of what to expect and answers to some common questions.
-
You can reach out through my contact form and I’ll get back to you within 24–48 hours. We’ll schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and see if we’re a good fit. From there, we’ll set up your first session and I’ll send over intake paperwork.
-
In your first session, I’ll get to know you and ask about what brings you to therapy, as well as your hopes and goals. Together, we’ll start shaping how our work can best support you and what feels most helpful.
-
Some clients like to meet weekly, while others prefer every other week. I usually recommend starting with weekly sessions for the first 3–4 weeks so we can build a strong foundation. We’ll check in along the way and adjust to what feels right for you. As for how long therapy lasts, it really depends on your goals. Some clients come for short-term support, while others choose to stay longer to deepen the work and maintain ongoing growth.
-
I do not take insurance, but I can provide a Superbill that some clients use for out-of-network reimbursement. My standard fee is $200 for a 50-minute session. Longer sessions are available upon request. I also offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots- if that is something you need, feel free to ask to see if any are available.
-
I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions for clients throughout California. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and convenience of meeting online. While I do prefer in-person sessions when possible, virtual sessions are fully supported and just as effective.
